This is a lamp, that I got from my previous school, during my senior years. It is used to demonstrate reflection of the light when it is diffused and not. So the reflector part is made nor from vaporized aluminum, but from diffusing powder. It has really cool shape, and can not be turned on for longer than 2 minutes, or else it can overheat and blow up. At least that is something my teacher told me.

Hmmm, not sure why it cannot be powered up for longer than 2 minutes, I'd be interested to know the reason behind that

This is a very nice and rare lamp you show here.

Ria, the lamp is very compact, so it would need cooling or the white powder will start to black or grey out

Ok thanks for that, Alex. It's hard to judge the size without some form of reference.

Your teacher was wrong. This lamp with a high temperature filament for photo shooting.
She can't blow up. ))
There is no high pressure. If it is used for domestic lighting, she will simply quickly burn.
If the memory does not fail me, its service life is only a few hours.
