Yep Robert, it lights when you push any button or any display pad icons for a few seconds, then the display shuts off until another button is pressed. @mrboojay, some walmarts had these in the mid 2000's, since the mid 90's there had been some one for all models that had the red LED back lighted light up buttons for a certain 4 device remote and there was an green lighted 6 device remote as well.

Long live the great old 20th century quality in electrical & lighting products!
