WW vs. DSGN50 color rendering

Long time no see, LG.

This is pizza as viewed under a Sylvania SuperSaver F34T12/WW (top), and under a re-branded Sylvania F15T8/DSGN50. Quite a difference - nothing looks appetizing under the WW.

That's why I now have Osram Lumilux 840 as kitchen under cabinet lights.

Welcome back ! I see you're also interested in PABX telephone systems from your videos. I manage one such system at work but it is Telecor instead of Northern Telecom.

Thanks! Yeah, I've mostly moved on to other hobbies for now, but I have lots of pictures to upload here, so I'm going to try to do those once in a while.

The lunchroom at my work is just a sectioned off part of a large steel building that uses 400w high bays, and if you think food looks bad under warm white, try 4000K 60-CRI metal halide, frozen pizzas look pretty bad under that too The CRI is actually likely quite a bit lower as one lamp near the breakroom is pretty greened out and nearing EOL. Maybe I can convince the manager to let me put in a 360w CDM lamp (CRI 95) just above the breakroom...

Great photo! The DSGN 50 really makes the colors stand up and dance!

Preheat and T-12 fluorescents forever! Down with LED's and instant start T-8 fluorescents.

Result is not too surprising when comparing colour 29-530 and 950. That's why I'm using a Philips TLD 36W/950 in my kitchen now
How about comparing a standard CW and CW Supreme?

No more cheapy crappy Chinese junk, please.

I think I also like the WW better because it just has that "look" and retroness.

SLS! (Stop LED Streetlights!)

To those requesting more comparisons, send me said lamps and I'll gladly buy more pizza to take more pics.

All of the lights in my kitchen are warm white, and all of the food looks good under the WW lights.

Old lighting is, and will always be, the best lighting.

@ alamp: Might look good under triphosphor WW or maybe even halophosphor full-wattage WW but with energy saving WW, the color is pretty nasty and CRI is quite low.

@streetlight98: ok, because all of my kitchen are 13W CFL flood lights, and F13T5 under counter lights.

Old lighting is, and will always be, the best lighting.
