Close Up of Philips 100 Watt Frost

Close Up of Philips 100 Watt Frost

Click to view full size image

Here's a close up of one of my new 100 watt Philips frosted lamps. Notice the coating is a cross between thin silica and inside frost. I've only seen this coating in Philips lamps. Another unusual feature is the horizontal filament, not often seen in 100 watt incandescents. Looks like a sturdy and long lasting bulb.

Is that only one supported filament here?

Pretty, please no more Chinese failure.

Yes, this filament has a single support in the middle, similar to my French made 100 watt Sylvania’s.

Philips DuraMax and GE Miser forever!  Classic incandescents are the best incandescents!
