2 pairs of leviton dual lamp sockets

I ordered these a week ago from a electrical distributer and they just came Friday

These are unshunted sockets for T8 or T12 lamps.

White wire is for the outer socket and black is for the inner.

It must be noted that these are labeled either 'L' or 'R' depending on the side of the fixture they go. This is because the sockets have the notch on the side instead and all notches need to face the same direction (Up or Down)

I will be using these to covert one of my 2 lamp side strips into 4 lamp with 2 electronic T8 series rapid start ballasts.

Not sure if I'll have the lamps wired as inner/ outer or have each side its own ballast. If a lamp goes EOL both on one ballast will rectify.

This photo is in my album 'Restored Fittings' until I create an album for fixture parts.

Nice find. I seen similar sockets in fluorescent thorn street lights.

Very cool...I think these could be used to convert a regular strip fixture into a 4 lamp monster!

Or if you had a fixture where the sockets are mounted on the sides rather than the top near the channel cover, you can make a 4x40 RS or preheat (I've seen them in 2x32).

I plan to slap these into a 2 lamp side strip and make a 4 lamp louvered fixture. I already have plans and a design drawn up on parts to make and final look for a 2 lamp version. Making a 4 lamp will just need the design to be wider and 2 separators placed on the blades between lamps on each side

That will be a neat setup when done!
