Nice! I have one of these from 1965, but mine is silver (because it's from 1965). Mine was originally 100W MV 240V but I converted it to 175W Mv 120/240V with an OEM 1966 GE ballast. It also had one of those black cylinders (someone told me what it was, but I forget) but I didn't know how to wire it to 120V so I just took it out. It's not essential to the circuit. It's either a surge protector or stops radio interference or something like that.
