Intelight and Optisoft

Intelight next to my tinted lens Optisoft, that may be the only one of it's kind in existence as Optisofts are extremely rare and they normally had clear lenses.

Intellight on the left, Optisoft on the right. They do use the exact same casing. Optisoft pioneered the "incandescent look" LED traffic signal, but their pedestrian insert had a flaw that the company couldn't survive. The remnants got bought by Intelight who used the same casing (and the same power supply) for their programmable visibility signal.

Nice photo of the two Monte! The earliest Intelights still used the OptiSoft logo. I plugged my software into one of the NOS ones from ebay and it was made in 2006. Intelight was founded in 2006.

Mine and others following have an Intelight logo on them. Mine was built in 2008.

The Optisoft one looks vaguely familiar, maybe they are still used here.

I saw an optisoft for sale but it was missing the internals and quite a drive away. It was an earlier one with the small heatsink.

Why can't we just use led retrofit instead of replacing the whole fixture.

Optisoft originally had a contract to replace all the Florida state maintained signals, so some probably made it to Florida. What happened is they got sued over the poor performance of their city of LA pedestrian signal retrofits and thus couldn't front the money to pay for the initial manufacturing cost of the Florida contract, so they went bankrupt. They got bought by Intellight, but now Intellight had it's own problems with shoddy manufacturing after they outsourced it to China, and exited the business. There are no no electronically programmable traffic signals made, only optical ones.
