Seems only a few members have lamps that have a double etch like this one!

I found it when relamping the wallpack at my old job.

Linear fluorescent will never lose to LED!
I am not Anti-LED, as I have some in use at my house.

I really have no idea, maybe they are doing it on purpose?

I have a Sylvania HQL-125 with a B22d-3 cap somewhere...least that is what it says on the etch on the bulb crown....down on the side of the lamp at about 30 latitude south near the edge of the phosphor, it says "Thorn MBF/U 125!"
Now that's a "double etched" lamp!

FYI all the new Sylvanias have this etch. This is nothing rare/special.

That's odd, just wondering why they are like this now?

Its just the same rubber stamp, reproduced twice, cut in half, and the two halves with the lettering butted together....sort of useless really to repeat the same information twice...mayne they think people are just too lazy to roll the lamp over to read it...come to think of it, I think I have one too, but I just thought it a bit inane and it got packed away in the collection.

Yes, RCM....or "Sylorn"....(what is that hybrid Felion...a "Liger" or a "Tigon"! I think it depends who is on top!) It is the ONLY lamp out of my 12,500 that has such a dual mark....actually I need to get it out again and take a better and more detailed look because I can now decode date ant plant codes...but when I got it, years ago, I could not.

The problem is, of part of it rums off, all will probably go....certainly if the bake-in process at the plant fails. Of the etch is partially obliterated in use by, say water running and dripping off the VBU lamp...yes, you then have a valid point! But you still have to realize it is the same info repeated twice and not different info on each side.

@ Alex, AFAIK Sylvania still makes their own MH and HPS lamps. Their MV lamps are made in China though.
