Retrofit LED tubes in action

Retrofit LED tubes in action

Not so long ago I mentioned the appearance of LED retrofit tubes in original fixtures of some railway carriages, here are the photos in action. To be honest while I expected crap similar to first LED retrofit tubes that appeared on the market years ago, actually I can't find much arguments against those tubes here. Lumen output is similar to T12 tubes (though one might argue that it is a downgrade of total lumen output in comparison to T8 tubes which technically those LEDs are meant to replace and T8 are expected to be more efficient than T12, still despite said total output they are better in lm/W), colors are nice without the violet hue often associated with daylight LEDs (though compared to T12 those are more bluish while T12 daylight tubes had that green hue). About life expectancy it is too early to say as this is just the beginning of said retrofits usage (one not working here was probably turned off by a passenger by illicit rotation of the tube).
