The same procedure as every year. Little reinforcement was applied. Now there are four sets of 100 lamps 5w each. The US-System (parallel) causes less problems than strings with lamps in series. I have to use a step-down-transformer. I first ignored that a 2000W transformer can only handle that load for a short time. Now I use a 5.000W type just be on the safe side.

Really well distributed lights, and the cables are barely noticeable. But your electrity bill must be huge!! What do you think about using the new miniature LED filament C7 coloured lamps that have recently become available? They are brighter and have more deeply saturated colours, but only consume about 10% of the power.

This is still a CFL- and LED-free zone!

You are absolutely right about a certain necessity concerning some savings on energy. I am still about 85 % incandescent. Miniature filament is tempting, especially when looped. Glass envelopes are a must. The consumption of energy for heating or cooling is quite an issue. But lighting is negligeable in my case.
