At a local park. I don't know if they work or not but they are probably still shut off for the winter if they do. There's also a photocell higher up on the pole attached to a wallpack. I'm guessing they are on some kind of timer and the "10 minutes" is for warm-up time. (the fixtures are older looking floodlights with 1000w metal halide bulbs).

Is the parks still open there? Here most are closed, or at least the picnic areas and courts are shut. Tennis courts and golf courses are open.

Anyway this is a cool setup. At some parks here there is a phone number you call to turn on the lights. Not sure how it would work though, if it works automatically or someone has to actually come turn them on.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.

Something like that would last 10 minutes in some places around here. The padlock would be smashed off and whatever was inside trashed

It'll be all right in the end, and if it isn't all right, it isn't the end

Well technically they are "open" year round and lots of people come to them to sled during the winter since there are some big hills around here.
With those lights you have to call the number for I almost wonder if it's some sort of phone-activated relay. I do know those used to be used on air raid sirens in the US.

I meant closed due to the virus. They shut all the parks around here as far as equipment and picnic areas to keep people from touching them or gathering.

Yeah, I figure it may be a relay of some kind. Interesting idea.
