Poorly lit intersection

Poorly lit intersection

Here's one of my biggest issues with LED streetlights. The cutoff lines are way too sharp. Before they LED-ized my area, most intersections had 100 or 150w HPS cobra fixtures with 4-way distribution. Some had fixtures with 2-way, but even those lit intersections sufficiently due to the less intense cutoff lines. This particular intersection had a 150w HPS model 13 with 4 way optics up until early 2013 when the pole was hit by a drunk driver. It was replaced with a 150w HPS FCO M250R2, which also lit the intersection sufficiently. With the new LED lights, intersections aren't lit as well due to the narrow distribution. I don't know about you, but this seems a little dangerous to me. At the very least, they should use fixtures with 4 way optics, but I don't know of any LED streetlights that offer 4-way distribution.

They still use HPS here.

I collect exit signs, preferably vintage ones.

I also have a little bit of a thing for light bulbs, too. Of course, hoarding them due to the incandescent bulb ban.
