Devolve blocked by trees

Devolve blocked by trees

Click to view full size image

The GE Devolve on my street. As you can see, it is being eclipsed by the trees quite nicely. Last year when the 113 was still up it wasn't quite this bad. I would report this to the city but knowing Xcel energy they will probably brutally murder the tree if I do. I'm going to leave (heh) it as it is right now, but if it ever completely blocks it I'll report it.

Cool effect but very dangerous since the sudden light to dark transition means drivers might more easily hit something in the road they might've otherwise seen with the light not obstructed. There's plenty of lights around here engulfed by trees. I don't know why they didn't trim them when they went LED here. Honestly I don't know how they GOT to the old HPS light to install the LED here in some cases. One HPS was missed out here because the trees must've hid it. Here it is. Unfortunately doesn't work. It didn't work even before the conversion.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

Well there's a big light-to-dark transition at almost every 4-way intersection now that they installed the LED lights and as far as I know they haven't caused any massive issues. This is what almost every intersection in my area looks like now. I still think its unsafe though, especially on a turn like that. Before this these intersections would have mostly had 100 or 150w fixtures with 4-way optics that did a good job of lighting them up. Some had 2-way but even those had enough light spill that it was lit sufficiently. Now there's just a dark cutoff line all of a sudden as you can see in the picture I linked.

Any machine is a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough.
