NEMA optics comparison

Here are two otherwise identical NEMAS (GE 201SA's, 100w HPS) with the only difference being that the one on the right has a Type V bucket refractor and the one on the right has a full cutoff Type V reflector. As you can see, there less glare from the one with the FCO reflector. It also directs the light downwards instead of everywhere, making it much more efficient. (A 100w HPS FCO fixture casts as much light below it as a 250w HPS Powerbracket with a bucket refractor).

Less glare but the glare that remains appears to be way more painful to look at.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

It's actually not as bad as it looks in the picture.

Any machine is a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough.

If you look directly at it. But sunglasses will be better because the arc tube in operation. I done it before, and it was cool.
