Powerbracket and floodlight

Powerbracket and floodlight

These are the only surviving HID utility-owned fixtures in my area besides a few 100w FCO NEMAs in some back roads. I am unsure what wattage the powerbracket is (probably 250w) but it has been there since 1984 at least. (I found an old photo of a nearby building under construction and you can see it there). It also appears to have a Type III refractor. I haven't seen floodlights or NEMAS (powerbrackets) get replaced with LEDs so far, so I hope it stays this way since there is almost no HID lighting in my area now.

The utility here no longer maintains any cobra head street light. They always get replaced with LED . Private rental lights like this are still HID, but I don't know how longer they will be so.

This Powr/bracket fixture could be 250W but I would guess it is the more common 175W model. There are still about one or two in my area. The main road, which is about 45 km long, has only about 3 MV rental fixtures. All the rest are HPS. A sign of the times, I guess.

I know of four Powr/brackets in my county, I just stumbled upon one of them today. All of the ones around here have the big 400W refractor. I don't know that any of them still work, I know two of the four do not. I don't know if it's because they were all replaced later or not but they never seemed as common in my area as regular NEMA heads. Same with the AEL brackets, though those are a little more common and definitely still working.

The utility co in my neighborhood replaces all of the rental NEMA head buckets with LED cobras when they go out. All of the NEMAs are HPS except for at least one MV I know of. I'm not sure who is the PoCo that owns the Powr/brackets, but there aren't any in my neighborhood that I can recall.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.
