No, because the people working on the poles only spoke Chinese.

There was a third person but i only noticed him as he was packing up his truck to drive away. The fixtures are still there and there are more that have not been taken down so i'll hopefully have another chance tomorrow.

The new LED fixtures seem to be generic fixtures that are sold under many names on sites like Amazon and maybe eBay.

Just take one. Some of the people always have to say no despite their junk going to the trash heap having no scrap value in it.

From the picture these look like they've been gutted. I don't see doors on them and from what I can tell the insides appear empty. Or are they just dissembled with the parts nearby?

From what i've seen, the top covers have all been removed but all of the gear is still inside, the only reason they remove the top covers is the bolts holding the fixtures to the poles are inside the fixtures.

Oh that's the top of the light? Interesting. Never knew there were shoeboxes that opened from the top. Would you open the top to relamp as well or does the glass on the bottom come off for relamping?

Hmm I like the idea of that from a maintenance perspective. No dead bugs falling in your face lol. On the flip side, the glass is harder to clean (not that anyone does it). With a traditional light, when you open the door some of the debris falls out on its own, though most of the time the dead bugs are caked onto the glass from the heat of the lamp.

For this reason I like Cobras. I never liked shoe boxes, always cobras in parking lots and think those who did were wise. Then again shoe boxes look better I guess to the general public.

Yeah, I kinda like that idea too. Although its a bit of a pain to relamp from the top. But if theres couple of screws holding the socket.

All but two of them have mutivolt ballasts, the two single voltage ballasts are 240v only, but i'm not sure what i'm going to be doing with them.

You could use them as grow lights...
