These just use the toggle as the dimmer and feel like a mercury switch to operate. I think they are made by Eagle.

Did you find a 3 way or single pole one? It would be a good score to find either.

Those are rarer than the single pole versions. Can you post a picture of it when you get it?

Ace Hardware was still selling these under their own brand about 10 years ago, and they may still be doing so.

Leviton 6641 appears to be recently discontinued, but still widely available. There's a couple dozen new ones on eBay and about 18 left on Amazon

@Fluorescent05:
They're different colors...and the 2 dimmers don't even match each other.
LOL , I'm being OCD-ish but non-matched switches bug me. If it was mine, I'd have to change 'em out so all were the same color & both dimmers were the same style..

That's me too! My school has mismatched plate/device combos (ie. white plate on an ivory device) as well as small toggle switches next to big ones. Both of those drive me crazy! I can give them new plates but not switches (too expensive for me right now).

@ takemorepills: That's every electrician. One of the first things they teach you is the plate screws always go with the slots vertically. Makes for a neat and professional appearance.

@ fluorescent05: I've removed a few of these switches at work. Personally though they were rather cheesy so I never thought to keep any of them. If you're interested in used ones I will save ones I find in decent condition.

I have no idea. Didn't pay much attention to them when I removed them. They were ivory though (which is why they were removed; kitchen was remodeled and customer wanted white devices) and were replaced with new resi-grade P&S white single poles.

If they get removed on jobs. The likelihood is low that I'll come across these but if I do I'll keep you in mind, as I have no interest in dimmers myself, and I'd rather see them enjoyed by someone than thrown in the garbage. That's of course if the switch is in good shape. A lot of switches I remove are not.

I'm not sure on the lights but we install white Pass and Seymour devices. Once in awhile we get leviton, probably because the other supply house has a sale on them. I dont know if it will be decora or standard though. Probably standard.

Decora plugs and switches. Plugs that are hidden (behind fridge and other large appliances, inside cabinets, outdoor plugs) get regular plugs.

They have to be gfci protected, not necessarily gfci plugs. Weatherproof gfcis are like 30 bucks each so its cheaper for us to put a gfci plug next to the panel on it's own circuit and then feed the outdoor plugs off that. The panel plug is already required to be gfci protected if it's in an unfinished basement so we kill two birds with one stone. For kitchens we use gfci/afci breakers, no gfci plugs on there either. All the bathroom plugs are on one circuit, first plug on the circuit is a gfci, rest of the bathrooms get regular plugs.

The panel plug goes beside the breaker panel. Every panel needs a plug within so many feet. If it's in a finished room then one of the room's plugs will suffice.

There is a plug under my panel on the wall (my basement is finished) but instead of using a GFCI breaker for outdoor lights, the electrician put in a GFCI outlet in the panel.

You have a GFCI receptacle INSIDE your panel? That's 100% against code! If it's an unusual house layout and it's too much wasted wire running all the outdoor plugs on the same circuit we will sometimes come off the circuit on the other side of the wall (so if there's a deck off the living room, we will come off the living room circuit) and the plug we come off of in the living room would be a GFCI, with the load side going to the outdoor plug and a a second wire on the line side of the GFCI to hit the rest of the living room plugs.

Nice, hope you get them.

Good quality things are awesome. Cheaply made things are not.

Thank you! I will definitely try to get these, and fix the 3 way switch system in the process. I don't think it has ever worked since the house was built.

Cool switches! Hopefully you can get them if they are changed.

Nice, these will be cool to have. At my grandparents house, they are also some rare Eagle switches.

Update: I might be replacing these today. Also, the 3 way one on the right was miswired a long time ago, so I will try to fix that too.
