This light is a 20 yr veteran of my collection . This was originally 480v 200w HPS (for some reason I thought this was 310w all these years!) OOPS! Probably explains why I never could find a 310w lamp I thought came from this ! I finally took a magnifying glass to the tag ( hard to read because the typing isn't lined up with the info boxes so the info is typed onto the writing for the line under it) The original ballast vent to the scrapyard years ago due to it being 480. I got this from a pile of cobras on the side of the road during a highmast install . OV-25's have always been one of my favorites , This will eventually get a 400w MV ballast .

Tim, you could install a 400W/M59 MH ballast in this and run both MV and MH. Nice to see that you have this in your collection!

Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.

Thanks, I actually thought about that, makes it a little more versatile. I have some M-59/H-33 multi-tap ballasts here somewhere , I'll have to dig one out and get it in one of these days !

Nice OV25. I have to re ballast mine. mine is a ov25 HPS 400 watts. sadly I told seller to ditch the HPS. Id orginally thought OV25 came in 400 watt MV. I did source a 400 watt OV 25
westy ballast. anyway in future dont toss 480 volt ballast. I can power them using step up tranny.

No LED gadgets, spins too slowly.  Gotta  love preheat and MV. let the lights keep my meter spinning.
