Finned GE M-1000 WITH P/C Socket !

Click to view full size image

This beast was part of a trade with Memorex_Telex . It WAS 120v H-36 but someone converted it to 400w MH. This will be returned to MV ! M-1000's are big but with the fin AND the P/C it's ENORMOUS! From the top of the P/C to the bottom of the refractor is 21 INCHES TALL !

Any ideas on the Date ? (Date Code KA )

If I wanted, I could technically put a P/C on the finned OV-50 also as it has a round, flat pad on the fin !

Very nice! The finned M-1000s with PC sockets are very rare! Last year for silver paint on this fixture. I didn't know the fins lasted into the mid-60s. I wonder if they used the fins after 1965 Never seen a gray M-1000 with fins.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

I was wondering how long the finned M-1000's were made, when they transitioned to the no fin. When was the "thumb" style latch introduced ? I got both style doors with this and wasn't sure which one was correct ! as for the color, I asked about that in another post as the upper body of the light under the fin appears to be a silver similar to rough cast aluminum https://www.lighting-gallery.net/index.php?topic=7383.0

@ fluorescent lover 40 : Thanks for the Manufacture Date !

@ HPSM250R2 : Correct on the ALR P/C

@ streetlight98 : Thanks !

I really wanted to keep that thing but the missing ballast & my M-1000 hoard is getting out of hand sealed it’s fate in being traded away to someone more appreciative of the M-1000 series. I have to say, that’s probably the only one in collectors hands; unless Joe Maurath has something hidden away. It’s so similar to the other finned M-1000 units I have, that I didn’t see the point in keeping it. It was in excellent shape aside from the missing ballast.
