This is replacing the 13w PL fluorescent fixture in the background, I was never really a fan of these PL fluorescents cause they SUCK in the winter and the globe design threw light everywhere !

Very nice! I like these and RLM fixtures and of course radials!

I actually do like those cylinder PLs, especially the older metal and glass versions. I had a plastic PL I got at Habitat, had a clear cylinder with lines in it. But it was quite dim. Been wanting to get another, but can't find any.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.

The PL fixtures looked nice when they were new,(20yrs ago) They were indeed not very bright but did the job at the time. Now, with yellowed and/or cracked globes and there dismal performance in the cold it's time for them to be replaced with something "new", well new to the garage anyway!

Lovely! Yeah PLs suck in the cold but they were an innovative product back in the 80s and 90s (and even 2000s I suppose). Better options exist now for sure.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

Thanks ! Just think, in 20-25 yrs there'll be something even more innovative that will make the mighty LED as popular as a whale oil lamp!
