Found this at Wal-mart

Never understood why the Reveal fluorescents are such low color temp while the halogens and incandescents are more like daylight !

And how can 2600K give you "radiant whites" ? I'd think white would look kinda "off" under one of these !

Yeah. I have 2 of the F8T5 reveals. They are more like the warm white fluorescents but have a slightly pinkish hue to it. The CRI is probably around 80 or so.

I personally have lost all trust in General Electric lighting now days ,

The Company is not what it used to be - Packages reading bulbs will last 9 Years etc etc If You burn them 4 hours a day - Even If You do that , The bulbs hardly survive a Year, Horible desceptive advertising !!

Nothing more then Cheap Chinese Garbage with a G-E Name stamp,

Buyer beware- Avoid !!!

I bought a pair of these by accident for the 2 lamp F8T5 fixture in my kitchen and I HATED THEM ! warm white is one thing but these have a pukey orange/pink color that made the whole area look just weird ! I used them for less than a month and replaced them with a pair of Sylvania cool whites, MUCH BETTER!

I ASSUMED that these were like other Reveal lamps I've seen and owned and would be the same or similar to daylight color, WRONG ! The ones I bought don't have the color temp anywhere on the package. I wouldn't have bought them if I'd known !

I hope I’m not coming across as negative- I just don’t
Want to see other lighting collectors fall for the same trap

Con artists are running these companies nowadays ,
Notice how it’s no longer made by - It’s only distributed by,

Top executives and purchasing agents award the jobs to the lowest Chinese bidders and there You have it ,

The best way to bypass this new garbage is to purchase new old stock , I look to eBay , Wanna make Youre vintage incandescent light bulbs last almost forever? Do what I do and run them half or 3/4 bright on dimmers
Then at night if You want night lights then dim them way down , this works Great.

Getting back to G-E reveal - 2 Years ago I relamped my moms house with all new Reveal incandescent light bulbs- I bought 14 of them after reading the package it stated the bulbs would last an average of 9 Years if burned 4 hours a day , My mom goes to bed early so she only used the 3 to 4 hours a night 6 to 8 months later
The house was almost completely dark because most of these so called G-E Reveal bulbs had already burned out
Some only lasted a few minutes, so , No more ,!!

Best advice New old stock is the only way to go ,

I have some reveal fluorescents in a few sizes, up to 4-feet.
If I find them cheap/on clearance, I'd absolutely buy more because I happen to like the color.

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

No problem , I agree that A LOT of the modern lighting is crap !!! As for the average life, an average is just that, an average nothing more . just cause they say "2 yr life" doesn't mean WE will get that.

BTW the 2 that I bought say 4.6 yr life*.....*"based on rated life at 6 hrs consumer use per day" I quoted the package ! looks like GE lowered their own standards
