This was an eBay find ! I don't typically buy incandescent lamps but this "spoke to me" (the seller private offering me this for 33% off the list price helped alot also ! lol )The box is in excellent shape with only minor damage in a couple of spots , not bad for it's age ! The box has 2 different designs on it, this is side 1 .

PS-35 is a big bulb for a 200W lamp, and the box graphics are definitely 1920s, so I agree with your other post that this is probably indeed from around 1927! I am pleased to see it has sparked your interest in saving some old incandescent lamps

Thanks James ! Sometimes you just have to save things "just because" . The age of the lamp caught my attention but the fact that it was still in the box set the hook !

@ rjluna2 : Thanks !

@ sox35 : The condition of the box was definitely a factor in the purchase , I probably would have refused the private offer if the box was missing .

For a lamp of that age, I would have had it anyway, it's decades older than anything I've got. But it's always a good thing to have the box or wrapper

I had no idea it was THAT old until I saw the patent dates on the box when I received it ! I originally assumed it probably was from around WW2 .

For being almost 100 years old this thing looks like it could have been made yesterday. I had always thought that light bulbs made in the 1920's would look a lot older in terms of design, sort of like those modern "antique style" bulbs.

Apparently the modern shape and filament construction really dates back to the 1920s
