this lamp is a retrofit for standard 13w PL fluorescents
It will work with or without a ballast and emits light from the 2 flat sides .
the light quality and quantity is comparable to a cool white PL at 1/2 the watts and unlike the PL's these don't mind cold weather!

Cool use! Do you prefer the PL fluorescent lamp or the LED? LED probably starts up quicker in cold weather though.

I like all kinds of lighting and electrical, especially HIDs and street lights!

Most kinds of CFLs and fluorescent lamps don’t work well in cold. Makes sense that you used LED in this situation!

The PL fluorescents are great for indoors but completely useless outside if it's in a cold climate.
