Rent a boom lift, or if you can get a lift directly underneath and the ground is firm, you can use a scissor lift. This is a situation where you want to do it safe. (I have experience working on these with either a ladder or boom...you want the boom lift.)

Would you be getting the arms with the luminaires? Hope you can get them!
(These are most likely 400W mercury vapor.)

Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.

That varies. Check with local equipment rental companies for prices.

Rude comments removed, sox35 and Metal Halide Boy are 2 entirely different people. Unrelated to each other. It doesn't matter who is who anyway, we aren't here for cyberbullying, we are here for discussion about lamps.

Linear fluorescent will never lose to LED!
I am not Anti-LED, as I have some in use at my house.

Is there a halogen flood light below it on the pole?

Don't be fooLED, T8 IS the worst thing to do to a magnetic T12 fixture.

$350-$500 you must purchase insurance for the day of use on the vehicle. Hope the pole isn’t shell rotted & falls over when you put pressure on it. Class 4 or 6 pole at 35 or 30 feet weighs several hundred pounds.

Check some of the rental places for a tow-behind boom lift. They are roughly $200 for 4 hrs (Home Depot) They are self leveling and can be used on almost any surface .
I had a large tree trimmed recently and the guys that did it used one of these lifts in my front yard with no problems! They will reach to 35 Ft I think . Good Luck !

I wonder how much would it cost to hire an electrician or a lighting service company to come and take the light down.
