Nice that you got it! By the way, new insulators are made out of nylon, not fiberglass. |

This appears to be a Victor Insulators Model 9R, i have one just like yours, but unlike yours, mine has the logo and date printed on the front.

It depends on whos making them, for example, i have a Hendrix HPI-55-4 that is made out of high density polyethylene. |

That's cool that they gave it to you. That's a Victor Insulators pin insulator. I certainly recognize the logo. I have a set of deadend bell strings made by Victor. |

My grandmother has a couple of brown ones from the 1960's ? that my grandfather saved when they changed out the poles here in the mid 1980's. She still uses it as a door stop. Not sure if they are Victor or not, however. |

It's cool when you get something like that unexpectedly. |

I certainly agree with that! That's how I got most of the powerline equipment in my collection. |

This pole was bare so I couldn’t ask for any cutouts, I’m still very satisfied though. |

Cool insulator! It’s good that you were able to get something from the pole. |

I like all kinds of lighting, except for LED, which I classify as a disease. - HID lamp and fixture collector - Vintage incandescent lamp collector Proudly suffering from Westinghouse Lifeguard sickness since 2019. Save the sodium lamps!

Sure is exciting! As a teenager I spent a lot of time following FPL, building up my collection and learning a lot along the way. |

GE insulators are difficult to come by as they have been part of Locke Insulators for decades. |

Are they gray or brown porcelain? GE merged with Locke years ago. |

I have a large amount of powerline equipment but unfortunately I don't have any brown porcelain of anything. It's frustrating as that's the oldest equipment. The oldest dead end bells that I have are from ITE made in 1970. |

I’ve seen some brown versions of the 9R, just don’t know how to get it. |
