Cooper URB Gumball (GONE RIP)

Cooper URB Gumball (GONE RIP)

Today was a sad day for all of us gumball lovers because this lovely Cooper URB sadly got replaced by an LED cobrahead replacement fixture. It looks like a LeoTek GreenCobra but could be a Cree Traveyo, Lumec Street View or some other one. If anyone who was driving on Queen Elizabeth Driveway today please tell me what it is now and I will update this description.

If this was a Cooper URB it probably from the 90s though, not 60s or 70s. But still shame to see a classic style fixture replaced.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.

They couldn't even be bothered to replace it with a similar style fixture?

Ottawa is just so far only using LED cobrahead replacements. They used to use LED retrofits but they were rare. As of now they are only using LeoTek GreenCobra except for Highways 417, 416 and 7. It looked like leoTek GreenCobra to me.

Absolutely sucks that it was replaced. This fixture was probably MH replacing the incandescents early on.

Long live Mercury Vapor and Incandescent street lighting!
