1980s Sylvania & Feit F15T8 Lamps

1980s Sylvania & Feit F15T8 Lamps

I pulled these two lamps from my grandparents' kitchen. The fixtures were installed in 1988 when they remodeled, and as far as they can remember, neither has ever burned out. Although still working, both have dimmed over the years, so I offered to replace them with a couple Sylvania Designer Soft White lamps. The old Sylvania had been located in the fixture they use daily, while the Feit was in the fixture they switch on less frequently. I'm amazed the old Sylvania still fires up. The right end looks awful and I'm sure it has far exceed the 7,500 hour average life.

I can't quite see the date code on the Sylvania but it's definitely later 80's-1993 as the "GTE" logo is bigger and the vertical line to the left of this logo is missing.

Preheat and T-12 fluorescents forever! Down with LED's and instant start T-8 fluorescents.
