I recently found this in the attic when cleaning out my mom's house. My dad selected this in the late 1970s for lighting the backyard deck from the addition he had built. It originally had a clear incandescent lamp screwed into a photoelectric socket adapter. In the early 1980's that photoelectric adapter failed and the light was inoperative for years as the adapter had corroded itself to the socket. In the late 80's it was fixed and the last lamp I put in it was a Lights of America 18w CFL Quad-Lite (which I still have). In the mid 1990's I took the fixture down and put up a 50w HPS wall pack in its place, then finally a LED wall pack in 2018. I ended up temporarily installing this in my lighting loft with a 160w clear self-ballasted mercury lamp in it...I like the way it looks. The paintcan ballast you see here goes to another light in the loft.
