All of the Gaash 2x36W T8 strips at the corridor near the maintenance department of Carmel hospital, has been replaced with these ugly linear LED panels.
As a result the corridor is over illuminated, and the energy consumption increased, as the number of LED panels are X2 the number of the previous striplights.
I asked the manager of the stock and technical storage of Carmel hospital, why they done this, and he said that this is cheaper than ordering fluorescent lamps...

I won't belive it. Energy consumption is more, you need to buy these ones and they are much more expensive than a simple tube! Even it won't last longer...

This installation was cheaper than the maintenance of the former installation (Replacing lamps and starters)

Looks good, why get bent over it? The wandering pattern of the fixtures is creative.

If you don't have skin in the game, don't get mad about it. As I get older, I am beginning to appreciate "overlighting", the more lumens I have the less likely I am to need to wear my glasses.

We have discussed about improper use of LED lighting, that causes over illumination and no energy saving here

I didn't follow the link. But, I will say that here in USA, often you'll see LED outdoor lighting that consumes 2/3 the power of the previous HID lighting, and it is left on 24/7.

Actually uses more power and won't last as long as timed/photocell HID installs...... and that's without "over illumination"

I mean... why get mad? They do this to make the hospital look better. Energy savings? That's their choice.

Some installs in the USA are bad, but some are good. LEDs streetlighting is one of those bad things though. They save energy but the light level is decreased. Like 90w LED = 200w HPS. When you see the lumens of a 90w LED in reality it replaces 100w HPS. Manufacturers don't want to tell you that though. LED lights for dealerships and most parking lot lights I have seen are pretty well lit yet they keep the same amount of lights. They don't run 24/7 though.

Power provider: Southern California Edison (SCE)

-Date decoder of some US lamps 1960-present.
-Switch and receptacle collector.
-I'll save any vintage lamp! Smiley
