There is a strip mall here in Grove City that HAD 16 of these ! They disappeared literally in a day. They WERE located across from an auto parts store I use frequently and I ordered some parts one day, they were all there , Wen't back the next day to get my ordered parts and POOF , GONE !!! Now the lot is lit with these LED things that look like giant spatulas ! I looked all around the complex and NOTHING! no sign at all.

I’m willing to bet the top portion is the same as the unistyle 400.

Yea I was looking at catalogues & I think this streetlight actually has a different top portion unlike the M-1000/M-400 & OV-50/OV-25 combinations.

Looks like they were replaced with LED. Here's the parking lot they were once installed in.

I don’t know of any areas in the US with Unistyle 1000 still installed. These are in the criticaly endangered list.

I didn't even know Unistyle 1000's existed until a few months ago... until then I had just figured the largest was the Unistyle 400.

They are so far the rarest cobra head style I know of with -0- known specimens in collectors hands.

I think at least one got saved but it looks to be in pretty rough condition. The 1960s first generation Powerlite cobraheads I believe haven't made it into any collectors hands too. All three models too. There's still some in use in parking lots but I haven't seen any on here in a collection.

A friend brought me some American Electric "Landmark" 1000W cobras which I understand were the Canadian fixtures from American Electric. They have the capacitor pods on top.
