From a flea market, I once bought a peg-light (strip light) that had been installed to a piece of metal. Before switching it on I decided to examine it - just as well, because the switch had been altoghether removed, and the bare wires from it were just resting on the metal casing. The picture you have taken is almost exactly the same, except the switch is present on yours!

Its basic requireent to look inside before powering. Dont trut anything - some old stuff was abused or estroyed, some new is just built dangerous in hte 1st place to cut costs. I see too much Ebay USB chargers being plugged in power strps under beds etc and i dont like it

Don't kid yourself, just because it was installed by a doctor doesn't mean that it's safe.

Preheat and T-12 fluorescents forever! Down with LED's and instant start T-8 fluorescents.
