Failing Gu10 LED's in my kitchen...

Failing Gu10 LED's in my kitchen...

Needless to say i bought 10 of these not so long ago and all have blown in one night, the reason they have fitted 160v Capacitors in them and here in the UK we are 240v.

Using 160V capacitors, meaning that these are 160V lamps. Not surprising that they went pop on 240V...

Pop!

Keep an eye on eBay for these:

They are not cheap normally but sometimes people list job lots of them up quite cheaply.
I've got 12 in use in my kitchen and bathroom and I'd consider them the best of the GU10 LED retrofits. They are the same physical size as a normal halogen and they seem very reliable indeed. I had previously tested lamps from Philips and Osram.
These are actually a lot brighter than a 50w halogen GU10 lamp and the colour is so good that a 3000k lamp is indistinguishable from a halogen.

UK out of the EU!

@Dor, yes, this is what they all did with in the space of a few hours. They are all now fitted with 50w GU10 halogens.
