LOL the way the grid ceiling just ends with pieces sticking out (plus overall 'dump' would be my word for the way this place looks )

But for lights I see 3 striplights, 2 shoplights, a troffer, and can't say forsure but there might be something lurking up in the open part of the ceiling that only the edge shows...
...plus there's various incandescent lamps in the bins/shelves (looks like random other electric/electronic parts too...)

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

What is this place?

Any machine is a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough.

I'm not surprised. It is probably cheaper to install lower the ceiling than removing the original light fixture and then install lower ceiling

Pretty, please no more Chinese failure.

I like it when they just leave the old fixtures above the ceiling. Gives the option to restore the room back to stock appearance

I think those shop lights are f96t12 slimline. Pretty sure the troffers are 4xf40,(there's 2) there's 2 f96t12HO strips with electronic ballast and sides are f96t8 single strips. This is a back room of a spring rebuild truck center. I was just walking by and noticed these awesome slimlines hiding in the ceiling. I bet you put 75 watt lamps in them they would be brighter than all these crapy electronic lights around them.

T12/ t17 there's a reason they made heavy magnetic ballasts

Judging by the black soot marks on the ceiling grid to the left of the troffer, there may have been previous strip light rows back in the day. A lot of different lighting going on!

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

Yeah I wonder if they used to use 2x8ft strips instead of the single lamp ones. Interesting to see bits and pieces of the old lighting still around. I'd always like looking in older buildings for the original lighting. There's a dollar store that has slimline half pipers above the drop ceiling and a department store here that has continuous row louvers above the false ceiling.
