My vintage f40 haul

My vintage f40 haul

Click to view full size image

I scored about 30 ceramic ww2 era Benjamin preheaters today I found on Facebook market place. It started in the winter when they wanted 2000 dollars for them. I knew that they weren't going anywhere for that price but the other day they dramatically reduced price to 750 so I offered 500 cash sure enough they agreed. Most have original westinghouse ballasts in good shape with starter assist competitor. Some have universal rs ballasts and some are just shells

Nice score. BTW, would they have sold individually, or "all or none"?

They are Benjamins! WOW! They always made the best, so not surprised they have the best ballasts inside, those Westy ballasts are awesome, they last forever and seldom ever leak or smoke! Even the later RS ballasts are bulletproof! You will find more that work and look like new than failed! Would love to have just ONE of these completely original! Would be awesome with my rare 1940 Wheeler with GE TULAMP ballast and separate comp, my gorgeous and near mint Mitchell with Jefferson Electric TULAMP and comp, and my very early Sylvania HF 100's! I LOVE both Benjamin and Mitchell, ma favorite early lighting companies! WOW, I am envious here! GREAT SCORE!

Great haul! I have a slightly newer late 40s-early 50s Benjamin twin F40 preheat industrial like this and it's still built like a tank. Mine came with a Jefferson internally compensated tulamp ballast and has some unique plunger sockets.
