Final (finial) Touches to the New Pole !

The Finial and cap are porch railing parts from Home Repo . The top of the pole was originally just a flat plate welded to the pole to close off the top . I drilled and tapped a hole in the center and attached the painted wood finial with the help of a stud with wood screw threads on one end and machine screw threads on the other i think it looks perfect there! i also have painted the mounting "wings" on the arm black so they blend in nicely and don't look so weird .

I can only imagine. I grew up at a place very similar to yours and would help my dad with the upkeep, but I had a lot more energy then...
