It's no biggie. I put the bulb into my general electric wall lighter

It casts a nice glow. It looks better with clear mercury in my opinion.

That’s a nice one not sure but think it rolled off the line in 1978 ,

And I agree- Very kind of Wide-Lite 1000 for sharing his recent score with L&G Collectors here -I cant get over how Beautiful this Light is 👍!

Ever see any clear tubular, like HT-400's or MB/U 400's over there?

I have a GE H400A33/T16 tubular mercury lamp. They did exist over here, though they were very uncommon. They were intended for scientific or speciality applications and not for general lighting. We only had tubular lamps for general lighting up to the 1950s. However, we do have an ET18 shaped bulb, which is rather compact, but is only used for metal halide and sodium lamps.

There are a few HT 400s still in use in Hobart, I am trying to get them, but since our electricity authority was recently partially privatized and re-lamping has been contracted out, it is quite difficult. I'm hoping to grab them when they go through scrap...as I know the guys at scrap.

I do actually have a T16 lamp somewhere...I think it is GE, if they are rare there, then they are far more so here. It is in poor condition/EOL though/
