Do you have any shops that are the equivalent of Restore ? Just needs to be a store that sells gently used or surplus building materials that were donated from anyone.

Sadly the restores here are beginning to get picky on what they take in so lighting is getting harder to score big from there. A older guy there just told me they don't like taking tubes because they have gases, yet they still happily take in the old box CRT tv sets, while piles of them sitting by a wall, filled with lead and harmful phosphors

Not really, the only sort of places that sell donated stuff are charity (thrift) stores, and they don't usually have lighting or building stuff

Nice lamp. I had something like that (probably still do but .location unknown. likely in one of the many boxes of Christmas stuff if I still have it)

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...
