Wide-Lites and an OVX

Wide-Lites and an OVX

2 disconnected 1000w Wide-Lite F-series floods and a Cooper OVX in a parking lot of a business at a Columbus metro park . I'd assume that the Cooper replaced the now abandoned Wide-Lites which were left to decay since they're SO FLIPPIN' HEAVY !!!!

I hope Tim gets ‘em - If he does I want someone to crack
The date code on those mercury vapor light bulbs
Wouldn’t it be nice if these fixtures have the original mercs light bulbs 🤞🤞!!

I need to take the time and figure out who actually owns the building . Getting these may actually be possible if they are privately owned . The problem is the city owns a large number of buildings that they lease out to businesses . I'm concerned since the only access to this property is via a city park which is on 3 sides of the facility (the 4th side is the railroad track)

Hi Tim,

When You get a chance take You’re pictures of these lights and the property to city hall ,

Someone at city hall should be able to help You ,

Make it clear to them that You have a passion for
Rescueding and collecting vintage flood lights and be sure to bring pictures of youre collection and
Mention to them You are more then happy to sign any wavers removing the city from any liability,

If there’s a will then there’s a way , These lights are worth the effort, As You already know 1000 watt F series
Widelights are rare and these even have the fins 🤞🤞
Fingers crossed ,

I definitely plan on looking into these. Believe it or not , the 1000w F-series is kinda popular here . As a matter of fact there is a warehouse nearby that USES roughly 1/2 dozen of them to light the lot ! 1000w floods were apparently the norm here at one time with the giant GE 1000w powerfloods being the most popular . I know of roughly 50-60 1000w powerfloods in and around Columbus , 3 of which are actively "on my radar" as I am positive that they are still MV but no longer in use . Like these they have been replaced by other lights and unhooked but left in place.

I just have that gut feeling You may just get these - But You will need to stay on top of the situation though 👌🤞

Isn’t it interesting to see lights like these survive over
50 Years of being outdoors and they still look good ,

I like how they simply screwed things together with pipe wrenching- Those were the days !!

We'll see ! That home made pole is massive ! the pipe appears to be 4" reduced down to 2" at each light Whoever made this didn't want it going anywhere..... EVER !

The tax office can and will tell you if you have the address.
