Japanese desk lamp for Europe voltage.

Japanese desk lamp for Europe voltage.

These lamps were very popular in the 50s 60s but this version with 10w tube became rare as the lamp was not available and only a handful of shops sold them, we were before ebay and PCs, how did we survive ? Shown lit on main and night light, press starter, first time I came across this idea I was still young and these things were new to me....no LGN no Glow lamp Collector publication ( 1980s ) How things have changed and so much knowledge out there

Nice find.
That night light in the base makes it look cool. Never seen that done in desklamps here.

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

We sometimes see odd sized fluorescent lamps in old CNC machinery. Don't remember ever seeing one that small before.

Is the night light bulb replaceable here?

Pretty, please no more Chinese failure.

Even that was hard to find in the 50s 60s and no one had seen Cand base except lift engineers who used that type on their floor indicators...Otis lifts imported then from The States. Now that little bulb is more available!

Interested in the history of electric lighting and incandescent in particular and neon glow lamps.

You should see the Otis elevator that I recently posted here, Peter.
