I've been upgrading the lighting at work to LED and here is the last PH light to be removed. There were only a handful of them and Dave (Silverliner) has a Westinghouse I sent him a few years ago. I don't know the brand of this one but it has a Jefferson brick ballast.

It cleaned up nice with some minor repairs and the ballast has no leakage, unlike many GE versions I've run across. In fact, I think Jefferson ballasts were better than GE, since I've had several GE ones either leak or fail.

Awesome fixture, I like the way the reflector is shaped.

Yeah any Jefferson ballast I've come across has always looked and operated great, even if the fixture it was in was ratty and beat-up. GE always seems to have capacitor issues. Was especially true for their HID lights. Their MV lights in the 70s were plagued with capacitor issues and their medium wattage HPS lights from the 90s onward had sporadic capacitor issues too. With their fluorescent ballasts though it seems they just run too darn hot!

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

Nice fixture. I am a bit bewildered at you removing this.

@Powergroove, this light will do better under my care anyway. Perhaps I will reinstall it in an obscure spot in my area.

It would have been a big waste to let it goto the dump. Glad you saved it.

The enamel reflector fluorescent fixtures are the only ones really worth collecting. These things are beautiful in the quality & workmanship.
