Saw this at a bargain store that used to be a video rental. There used to be a MH square box fixture that looks as if it went over a recessed square. I haven't seen this lit, but there are a few of these LED strips inside.

Electrical inspector or the annual building inspection if this is in an incorporated area will catch it.

This install brought to you by Redneck Electrical Installers, where we take pride in doing things anti-code.

Your mission - should you choose to except it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.

Reminds me of something i saw at a strip mall, all of the lights outside the businesses were 100w MH recessed cans (most of which were mislamped with 100w MV), one of the recessed cans had a cord running from it to an LED striplight. I'm guessing the ballast in the recessed fixture was either dead or bypassed because the LED fixture was working fine despite being powered through the light socket.

Old lighting is, and will always be, the best lighting.
