175 watt? Are you sure? Form 400s are typically 400w.

May all the great lighting technologies have their place in history.

The NEMA tag was faded, it might be a 400 watt. Pretty cool pic hunh?

The future of street lighting is Induction, not nasty HPS lights or cr@ppy LED lights!
Preheat CFL's should make a comeback!

This is one cool picture !!!! Not only is the street light beautiful - but look at that old survivor black line transformer behind it - some of those old transformers used to have a small red light on them.

You usually wouldn't find NEMA tags on older clamshells..... but the wattage tag MAY be on the wooden poles as back then thats what they did.....my electrical company used metallic tags with wattages nailed on the wooden poles until they invented NEMA tags in 1977....

Uhhh Lightman, hate to break it to ya, but that isn't a GE Form 400. That is a Joselyn luminaire.

Thanks for the correction NiMO, I was looking at this picture on my sidekick the whole time (which shows so small it sometimes is hard to see) but NiMO is correct, but hey thats still a nice find PERIOD! I don't see Joselyn in use often! Heck we probably have NO Joselyn cobraheads in Maryland!!!

Also Dave may have pointed that out but he probably saw it on his mobile device as he does that often like me...don't feel too bad...
