Ripley - believe it or not, they made ballasts

Ripley - believe it or not, they made ballasts

I was only aware Ripley made photocontrols until I went looking for a second 100w HPS ballast for my GE NEMA since I stole its (remote) ballast for use in a grow light. This little gem has a metal can igniter, NEMA tag, black wire nuts and other cool labels. I couldn't use the mounting bracket but it might work for something else someday. Strange seeing the choke core with so few wire turns on this side but it works great! At first I wanted a GE ballast for authenticity but decided this one was cooler!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this isn't a Ripley product, but a relabeled Magnetek-Universal ballast from the late 80's or early 90's. (It still is cool. )

Your mission - should you choose to except it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.
