New EYE 50W R20 reflector lamp. The coating on the front is only to diffuse the light, so no phosphor.
I use it to illuminate my workbench, it's cool light color help me stay productive a bit longer at night. Actually this piece is a spare one for replacement. I had to "smuggle" them from US, as these are not sold here in Europe.

I once saw a case of 12 of these on ebay for $10. I passed it up but now really regret it because I really would like some of these lamps.

I had to "smuggle" it into Europe from the US, but already many years ago. Still using it almost daily as the over desk light, working still quite strong. However the ballast I use tend to loose power - most likely the capacitors - I have added a capacitor in series with the normal MV choke (230V country), so it behaves more like a CWA ballast (stabilized current; the arc is way more stable with that than with plain choke)...
I have still one spare...

No more selfballasted c***
