General Electric Helical 26 Watts CFL

Here I pulled out this Mercury Starving CFL from Our Floor Lamp (Restored) today (2015-9-26). It still lights without flickering, but it is not very bright. When I touch the bulb itself, it is hot as the new bulb. I replaced with another General Electric 26 Watts CFL.

Does anybody encounted a starving CFL like this?

I think the lamp it got impurities, if it is hot like a new lamp. The argon discharge produces less heat than the mercury discharge.
