Maybe an alkaline battery. That's a lot of current for a dry cell to produce!

a lantern battery would probably light it , maybe not full brightness, and definitely not for long! I've tested car headlights with a lantern battery, killed the battery quickly, but lit the light!

45 watts divided by 6.6 amps = 6.8 volts, so yes it will by under run also by 0.8 volts, also yes it would drain a 6 volt Battery really quick, unless you use a 6 volt 10Ah Rechargeable Battery, then it would run for about 1 3/4 hours, or alternatively is to get hold of a 6 volt 50VA Transformer, also slightly under running Airfield/Airport Lights is normal to extend the Life of the Lamps, also in real applications on Airports the only time Airport Lights are at full intensity is in Fog etc where Visibility can be very poor.
