Here you see a Philips-Idman type 7A Double Lamp Aircraft Obstruction Light, designed for marking structures Buildings etc, which could be a danger to Aircraft in Flight and on or around a Airport, this Light uses 2 x 80 watt Mercury Vapour Lamps and has a Integral Ballast & Capacitor as well as a Change over Relay which switches from the Mail Lamp to the Standby Lamp in the event of the 1st Lamp fails. I just need to get 2 80w Mercury Lamps to test this Light.

There is a older version of this Idman obstruction light from year 1958: https://issuu.com/cyrilbarrow/docs/idman__140_-_195x/78 Model number is A 9-6/2 and it uses 2x 100W incandescent lamps. There is a change over relay too.

I see the newer version uses metal clips for the globe, that's really great improvement over the bolt type mine has.
