Looks very much as if the old MV lights have been superseded. The large glass front means that lights are never on here during daytime. So all than can be found are two old B&W postcard pictures: 1/, 2/.

This room would be very bright with every lamp turned on. The dark floor would soak up some light but it would be quite amazing to see it from the outside at night time.

Indeed, that would be 12 kW. This building opened in 1975, some years before saving power became an urgent matter...

Looks like there are some additional lights on both sides (as if such a power wasn't enough).
12kW could also act as a heating in winter.

They are a rather recent addition, so it should be save to assume that they are used instead of the big 400 watts bulbs now, whatever number of them was really lit.
