Xenon Short Arc Lamp

Xenon Short Arc Lamp

This lamp look like new and was boxed, but it wouldn't start. On close inspection the cathode tip has melted. I suspect the lamp was connected in reverse polarity. The seller kindly refunded. I can get it to flash with 30kV but at this voltage it often tracks across the reflector coating.
