The design of this shoeshaped classic SOX lantern looks similar to a certain modern LED streetlight. Just think a LED PCB in place of the bowl, reflector and lamp.

This Philips lantern was lighting a whole suburb of over 60,000 people (LaSalle, Quebec) until very recently. The new 31watt Evolves they installed EVERYWHERE are slightly dimmer than these lumen depreciated 55w SOX. I had difficulties driving around there at night just 2 weeks ago.
